2011 CAFM Conference & Workshop

Dear CAFM Members and Friends,

Our Certified Arkansas Farmers Market Annual Conference and meeting will be held in Little Rock at the Statehouse Convention Center on Saturday, February 26, 2011.

This year our conference will be part of a spectacular three day event as we have partnered with the 20th Annual Arkansas Flower and Garden Show , the Arkansas Farmers Market Association and the Arkansas Food Policy Council, Bringing together all our farmers, market managers, backyard gardeners, City and State Officials, foodies and locavores to network and share areas of interest that will have an impact agriculture for our future, farm and families.

These events begin on Friday and will run through Sunday. Every day is filled with workshops educational events, trade show booths and a Arkansas Local Flavors Dinner on Friday evening.

We are very honored to bring to our session on Saturday from Roxbury Farms, John-Paul Courtens and Jody Boylutt who manage a 1100 acre farm and will in an intensive 3 hour working session to show you how they Scaled up from 30 CSA (community Supported Agriculture) members to more than 1100 shares located throughout the Hudson Valley, including New York City with vegetables fruit, beef, lamb and pork. Jean-Paul Courtens and Jody Bolluyt will talk about how they did it, including appropriately scaled equipment, crew management, harvest systems, crop rotation and farm organization. John-Paul and Jody have been long time friends and partners with Farmer John Peterson, The Dirt on Farmer John, Angelic Organics and have met with many farmers throughout the past 18months sharing their success.

We will have a local buffet lunch at the Capital Hotel that is included in your package and \
Keynote Address “Biodiversity on the organic farm”. by Jean-Paul Courtens and Jody Bolluyt.
